The Opel Z14XE is a 1.4 L (1,389 cc, 84.76 cu·in) straight-four natural aspirated four-stroke liquid-cooled internal combustion vertical gasoline engine, manufactured by Opel, a subsidiary of General Motors since 2000 to 2004. This engine is Euro 4 version of the X14XE.
The updated version introduced in 2000, with the lighter cast-iron cylinder block. The Opel Z14XE has an aluminum cross-flow cylinder head, dual overhead camshafts driven by a toothed belt, and 16 valves (4 per cylinder). This engine used a sequential multi-port fuel injection system, a gas recirculation system (EGR), and electronic throttle for reduced emissions.
The Z14XE engine produced 90 PS (66 kW; 88 HP) at 6,000 rpm of maximum horsepower and 125 N·m (12.7 kg·m, 92.1 ft·lb) at 4,000 rpm of maximum torque.

It has a 77.6 mm (3.06 in) cylinder bore and 73.4 mm (2.89 in) piston stroke. Compression ratio rating is 10.5:1. The engine used a cast-iron cylinder block with a cast steel crankshaft, each piston is fitted with two compression rings and a single oil ring.

The ACEA A2-96 / A3-96 oil with a viscosity of 5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50 is recommended for the Z14XE, refilling oil capacity is 3.25 L (3.43 US. qt, 2.86 Imp. qt.). The recommended spark plug is Bosch FLR8LDCU with 1.0 mm (0.0394 in) spark plug gap.
