
The Honda EB3000X generator uses a single-cylinder Honda GX240 gasoline engine 242 cc (14.8 cu.in.). The engine has an overhead valve (OHV) design. The GX240 uses a horizontal carburetor with a butterfly valve and transistorized magneto ignition. The cylinder bore and the piston stroke are 73.0 mm (2.9 in) and 58.0 mm (2.3 in), respectively. The compression ratio rating is 8.2:1.
The GX240 produced 8.2 PS (6.0 KW; 8.0 HP) at 3,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and torque was 17.0 Nm (1.7 kg·m, 12 ft·lb) at 2,500 rpm.
