
The Honda EB2200X generator used the Honda GX140 single-cylinder gasoline engine with 144 cm3, (8.8 cu·in) of displacement. The engine has an overhead valve (OHV) design, a horizontal type carburetor with a butterfly valve, and a transistorized magneto ignition system. The cylinder bore is 64.0 mm (2.5 in) and the piston stroke is 45.0 mm (1.77 in). The compression ratio rating is 8.7:1.
The engine produced 5.0 PS (3.6 KW; 4.8 HP) at 4,000 rpm of maximum horsepower and 9.8 N·m (1.0 kg·m, 7.7 ft·lb) at 2,800 rpm of peak torque.
